Important news for anyone with plans this weekend.

Pope Francis is coming to Ireland this weekend, and the country is making plans to accommodate him.

On Monday we reported all of the items that are banned from the Papal mass, which you can read in full here.

The latest of these plans is that Dublin Bus Real Time Information will be unavailable for the weekend. A message appears on the Dublin Bus app saying: “There will be no Real-Time Passenger Information available on the 25th/26th of August as major traffic diversions will be in place due to the visit. See dublinbus.ie for details.”

Dublin Bus have confirmed that normal service will run on Saturday, however there will be significant diversions in place on these services.

They released a statement regarding the weekend, stating: “We wish to advise customers that due to the visit of Pope Francis for the World Meeting of Families 2018 on Saturday 25 August 2018, Lord Edward Street to Georges Street junction will be closed between 10.00hrs and 13.00hrs and North Quays, South Quays, Dame Street, O’Connell Street and Church Street will be closed from 13.00hrs until 18.00hrs.”

A full list of these diversions can be found here.
