Eir is hiring new apprentices in Ireland for the ‘largest broadband rollout programme in Europe’

Telecommunications company eir has announced plans to hire up to 50 apprentices, with aims to further strengthen its workforce as it plans to expand its broadband network across the country. New recruits will have the opportunity to work on what eir describes as the 'largest broadband rollout programme in Europe', which it says is backed by a strategic investment plan, unmatched in Ireland. In the past three years, 166 apprentices have successfully completed the same programme. They are now part of the team bringing fibre broadband to homes and businesses throughout the country. The apprentice programme advertised is open to candidates who have completed the Leaving Certificate or equivalent exams. Successful applicants will need to be able to start in November for a two-year training course which boasts extensive preparatory and on-the-job learning supported by an experienced technician throughout. Following the successful completion of the programme, top performers will be offered full-time roles with eir. “As a uniquely Irish telecommunications company, we have huge ambition for and commitment to Ireland and to our people," Una Stafford, Managing Director open eir Networks said of the new roles.
