The incident occurred on Tuesday morning.
Gardaí are investigating following a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that took place in the Cratloekeel area of Cratloe, Clare, on Tuesday 17 March.
The incident occurred at approximately 2.55am.
An 18-year-old man was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene which has been preserved for a technical examination.
Gardaí have issued an appeal for anyone with relevant information to contact them, particularly any road users who travelled in the area who may have dash cam footage.
