Desperately sad news.
A four-year-old Irish girl has died after she got into difficulty while swimming in a pool in Marbella, Spain.
The incident is believed to have happened at around 10.30am on Saturday morning.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it’s aware of the incident and is providing consular assistance to the family of the girl.
It’s understood the family were on holiday in the area.
