Mark Milsome, a cameraman who has worked on many major projects, died while filming a stunt sequence on Saturday.
Milsome, who is 54, had worked on popular projects such as Game of Thrones, Quantum of Solace, Sherlock, Downton Abbey and Poldark. He was filming upcoming BBC drama The Forgiving Earth in Ghana when the incident happened.
The Daily Mail has reported that Milsome was fatally injured when a stunt car hit his position as he filmed.
The BBC issued a statement on Milsome’s death, saying
“We are deeply shocked and saddened to hear this terrible news. “Mark Milsome was hugely talented and a much-respected colleague. Our thoughts are with Mark’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.”
The Forgiving Earth is expected to air in 2018 on BBC, with Netflix having global distribution rights.
