Gardaí investigating incident where man entered hotel room of schoolgirls on Ploughing Championships trip

The incident happened at 1am on 20 September.

Gardaí are investigating an incident where a man reportedly entered the hotel room of a number of underage girls who were working at the National Ploughing Championships were staying.

It’s understood the girls were from a secondary school in Tipperary and had been at the Ploughing Championships as part of a work experience trip.

The incident happened in a hotel outside of Moate, Westmeath.

The original story, reported by The Journal, said that the man entered the room and the alarm was raised.

Gardaí confirmed to JOE that an investigation is underway into an incident at a hotel near Moate, Westmeath which occurred at 1am on 20 September.
