GTA V is so good it even includes a reference to Dublin as Gaeilge

Is there anything this game can’t do?

Is there anything this game can’t do?

When we caught sight of the ‘Down with that sort of thing’ sign screenshot before the release of GTA V a couple of weeks back, we were sure that there was nothing the lads at Rockstar could do to further endear themselves to Irish gamers with a game that is probably one of the biggest releases of all-time.

But JOE reader and Offaly man Sean Lawlor, one of the many Irish gamers who have been playing the game flat out since its release, discovered yet another Irish reference while playing the game earlier this week: A road sign for Dublin complete with the Irish translation, ‘Baile Atha Cliath’, overhead.

According to Sean, the sign is located in a pub on the outskirts of Los Santos and given the incredible depth of detail in the game, it could well have evaded the notice of other Irish gamers.

It goes to show that the developers left absolutely no stone unturned when creating this gaming masterpiece and although that might not be a huge surprise when you consider that it cost $265 million to make, these nice touches certainly haven’t gone unappreciated over here.

If you were in two minds about buying a copy of the game, surely this, combined with the brilliant Father Ted reference, should surely convince you to splash out.

Judging by early reports, you won’t regret it.

Hat-tip to Sean Lawlor for sending this one into us
