Shaping up to be pretty decent.

With the weekend sadly approaching its end, it’s time to face the grim reality that it’s straight back to work for most of us but as many of you will have noticed, our old friend the rain made its return this weekend.

Granted, there were some people that were itching for a bit of rain but for sun lovers, that bit of drizzle literally put a dampener on their sun-kissed mood.

Anyways, here’s what’s expected over the coming few days.

Today will be humid and cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, persistent over the eastern half of the country this afternoon.

Conditions are expected to improve as the afternoon develops though with drier, brighter and fresher conditions gradually edging in from the west this evening.

All rain and drizzle will clear eastwards and most places will become dry overnight with clear spells developing. This being said, isolated showers will affect western areas. Highest temperatures 18 to 21 degrees.

Monday morning will be bright with scattered showers. The best of the sunshine will be seen during the the morning and evening hours, with cloudier periods through the afternoon. Top temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees, highest in eastern and southern parts.

With regards to the rain, no significant rainfall is expected during the early days of the week. There are some signs of some more significant rainfall developing in places on Thursday and early Friday though, with indications of drier conditions over the weekend.

Tuesday and Wednesday should be very bright days with a mix of cloud and sunny spells.

This being said, there are some scattered showers in places, but rainfall amounts will be small. Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees celsius, highest in southern or southeastern areas where there may be 21 degrees celsius on Wednesday.

The weather will start to slightly deteriorate on Thursday though because it’s set to become cloudier, but the morning should be dry.

Rainfall is expected to move into northwestern and northern counties by early afternoon on Friday and this will push southeastwards to affect most places later in the day. There could be some heavier falls in northern and northwestern counties, but amounts elsewhere will be relatively small.

As for Friday evening, it’s shaping up to have sunny spells with some scattered showers. Temperatures of 16 to 21 degrees celsius are expected.

Looking ahead to next weekend, there’s a little bit of uncertainty regarding the overall conditions. We’re expected to see a lot of dry weather with a mix of cloud and sunny spells, with just a few isolated showers, or patches of rain and drizzle.

Maximum temperatures will be in the low 20s.
