All good things must end...

The glorious weather that Ireland has been enjoying the past few days looks set to come to an end, according to Met Éireann's latest forecast.

Thursday and Friday of this week, in particular, saw sweltering temperatures climbing as high as 19C.

However, while temperatures may remain over the 10C mark, the sunshine looks as though it will be taking a break.

According to Met Éireann, today (Saturday, April 12) will see temperatures vary from 12C to 17C, but there is a much higher chance of rain.

The national forecaster has predicted that the morning will remain dry, but rainfall is to be expected this afternoon on the east coast.

They said: "Rain and drizzle will develop in the west and will move eastwards through the late afternoon and evening."

Saturday night is expected to feature scattered showers with temperatures ranging from 1C to 7C.

Sunday (April 13) isn't much better.

Again, the day will begin dry, but scattered showers are expected to start in the west and head eastward. Met Éireann has even warned of the possibility of hail and thunder.

Sunday will be far cooler with temperatures sitting around 9C to 12C.

On Sunday night, Met Éireann predicts "a mix of cloud and clear spells", with "scattered rain and hail showers becoming isolated and largely confined to western and southern coasts later."

Temperatures are set to range from 1C to 6C.

Monday (April 14) is also expected to produce showers, predominantly on the Atlantic coast.

The forecaster has warned that "some of the showers could be heavy and of hail with a chance of isolated thunderstorms."

Temperatures will range from 9C to 12C.

Monday night will become clearer, with showers confined to the western coast. However, frost is possible as temperatures will range from 0C to 5C.
