Rain and wind is expected.
The remnants of Hurricane Ernesto are set to bring major changes to Ireland’s weather next week, including a heavy dose of wind and rain.
The Hurricane is currently tracking into the western Atlantic with the National Hurricane Centre predicting Ernesto to bring strong winds and heavy rainfall to Bermuda through the weekend.
Met Eireann have predicted that Ernesto is set to transition to a mid-latitude storm near northeastern Canada early next week with its remnants then tracking eastwards into the open Atlantic.
A spokesperson for the national forecaster said: “As is typical with these systems there is a high degree of uncertainty in the forecast, but current indications suggest Ireland may experience some associated wet and windy weather on Wednesday (August 21) through to Thursday (Aug 22).
Ernesto follows up on an already busy hurricane season, which has seen hurricanes Beryl and Debby already cause major damage to the Caribbean islands.
The Atlantic Hurricane Season is predicted to be very active this year. 🌀 🌬️ 🌧️
