Kyran Durnin is feared dead

Gardaí investigating the death of Kyran Durnin are reportedly making ‘steady progress’ in the investigation.

A murder investigation has been launched after the young boy was reported missing in August.

A family member of Kyran’s reported him missing from his home in Drogheda, Co. Louth on August 30th.

However, Gardaí fear the eight-year-old may be dead and claim he has not been seen alive since May 2022.

They will reportedly start a dig this week, according to The Irish Mirror.

The young boy is presumed dead.

Last week, Gardaí confirmed there was no evidence that he is currently alive.

They officially launched a murder investigation after trying and failing to locate the young boy.

Gardaí stated:

“Despite extensive enquiries carried out by Gardaí to date, An Garda Síochána have been unable to either locate Kyran, identify any information on his current whereabouts, or any evidence that he is currently alive.

“Following enquiries to date, investigating Gardaí now believe that Kyran is missing presumed dead. A murder investigation has been commenced.”

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who has any information in connection with the disappearance of Kyran to contact Drogheda Garda Station on 041 987 4200.

Witnesses can also contact the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

“Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, will be welcomed by the investigation team. This information will be treated in the strictest confidence.”

The investigation is ongoing.
