Have you been to this tourist spot?

Generally, if you’re planning on heading away on your holliers, it’s always a good idea to check out what sights there are to see in your destination of choice.

Tripadvisor recently published its top 10 attractions in Ireland to visit, and the number one slot was a bit of a surprise, perhaps a welcome one if you haven’t had a chance to pay it a visit yet.

The number one attraction in the country, according to Tripadvisor is…

Drumroll please…

14 Henrietta Street.

Tripadvisor describes the historical tour as an “outstanding experience and excellent value – real hidden gem!”.

Formerly a Georgian house converted into a tenement house, the museum won the European Museum of the Year Silletto Prize in 2020.

“14 Henrietta Street is a social history museum of Dublin life, from one building’s Georgian beginnings to its tenement times,” the website reads.

“We connect the history of urban life over 300 years to the stories of the people who called this place home.

“In intimate group tours, we bring to life the stories of the humans who lived in the house, their changing circumstances, their experience of family life, of politics, and the impact of world affairs.

“By connecting to the personal stories of those who called 14 Henrietta Street home the building’s hidden histories are revealed.”

14 Henrietta Street has been incredibly well received by Tripadvisor users, with over 1,000 five-star reviews to its name.

The museum beat out Kilmainham Gaol, The Book of Kells, the Michael Collins Centre, and Croke Park, just to name a few.

The only natural beauty that made it on the list was the Cliffs of Moher, with most of the attractions in Dublin as well.
