More details are emerging…

It was revealed earlier this week that one of the men, Rachid Redouane, responsible for the London attack on Saturday night had lived in Ireland for a number of years.

It’s believed that he lived in the Rathmines area in Dublin during his time in Ireland but had not been known to Gardaí for crime or security reasons.

Now, an Irish-born woman has claimed that she met a second of the three attackers here in Ireland.

According to The Irish Times, the 26-year-old woman claimed she met Khuram Shazad Butt and other extremists about 20 times in Ireland and the UK two and half years ago.

One of their meetings took place in a house in the Santry area.

Butt was known to the British police and MI5 and he was the subject of an investigation back in 2015.

She was speaking at a press conference held by the Irish Muslim Peace and Integration Council in the Al-Mustafa Islamic Centre in Dublin on Friday.

The woman was successfully de-radicalised by a scholar at a mosque in London and said that she did not know the other attacker, Redouane, who lived in Ireland also.

She also claimed that there were at least 150 radicalised Muslims living in Ireland at the moment.

At the meeting, Dr Al-Qadri the chair of the council and the head imam at Al-Mustafa Islamic Centre said such people were perverting Islam and encouraged those present at the mosque to challenge those individuals in the communities.
