Talk about ‘whiskey business’…
A huge amount of alcohol was stolen in a daring raid in Dublin last month when, according to reports, two men with iron bars held up staff at an industrial park in Ballyfermot and forced them to open up one of the loading bays.
Three more men arrived to help as they tied up the staff and, in the end, over 2,500 cases of whiskey and gin were taken. Sweet lord that’s a heck of a lot of alcohol.
The men made their escape in two forty foot trucks and Gardaí are asking people to be vigilant in the run up to Christmas and have asked the public to report any offers of unlicensed alcohol sales.
Not that we’ve partaken in any daring raids ourselves, but we imagine that the forty foot trucks may not have been the quickest getaway vehicles in the world and probably more a case of ‘The Not So Fast and Furious’.
