Articulated lorry driver in his 20s dies in Tyrone
Tragic news.
A lorry driver has died following a road traffic collision in Tyrone.
The single-vehicle collision involving a Scania articulated lorry occurred shortly before 8.20am on Tuesday (16 August) on the Beltany Road in Omagh.
The man, aged in his 20s, died at the scene from his injuries.
“The Beltany Road currently remains closed to traffic while enquiries are ongoing," said Sergeant Green from the Collision Investigation Unit.
"Local diversions are in place and the road is expected to remain closed overnight."
PSNI are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have any dash-cam footage or information which could assist officers with their enquiries, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting the reference number 310 of 16/08/22.
