Major landmarks closed due to Storm Diana
Bad news for tourists.
Storm Diana is causing havoc in Ireland today, with several roads closed, many flights cancelled, and weather warnings aplenty.
On Wednesday morning, Ireland's Office of Public Works announced the temporary closure of two major landmarks due to the dangers accruing to high winds and storm debris.
"As a precaution, Fota Arboretum and Gardens is closed to the public today to enable assessment of any damage and clearing works to be undertaken. We intend to reopen in advance of the charity event commencing Thursday and will provide an update later."
Similarly, the office has issued a statement regarding the closure of Tipperary's Rock of Cashel: "Unfortunately due to high winds the exterior buildings at the Rock of Cashel are closed today. The Vicars choral remains open with complimentary admission and regular talks on the history of the site. Apologies for any inconvenience caused."

The Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre has also issued a statement recommending that people avoid the area: "Please be aware, we have had reports of a fallen tree on the Boyne Canal Towpath. We are currently assessing and will update you in due course. As the forecast is for high winds again today, we recommend avoiding the area."
