Man dies after fatal road traffic collision in Tipperary

It’s the second fatality to occur on the roads in Tipperary this weekend.

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the M8 close to junction 11.

A pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was fatally injured when he was struck by a truck. The incident occurred at 5pm on 2 September near Cahir, Co. Tipperary.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was uninjured.

The southbound carriageway of the M8 motorway is closed between junctions 11 and 12 and diversions are in place.

This is the second death that has recently occurred on the roads in Tipperary.

Another man died after his motorcycle collided with a car at around 6.15pm on September 1.

That collision occurred at Deerpark, just on the outskirts of Carrick on Suir. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to the Mortuary at Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel. The female driver of the car was uninjured.
