Gardaí are appealing for witnesses of the incident.
A man in his 40s has been killed in a two-vehicle crash on a motorway in Kildare.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 13, shortly after 11 pm and involved two cars.
Gardaí and Emergency Services arrived at the scene, on the M4Westbound at Junction 8 at Kilcock, shortly after the collision.
The man was pronounced deceased at the scene, and no other injuries were reported. A section of the motorway remains closed as of Thursday morning.

In a statement to JOE, a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí in Kildare are appealing for witnesses following a fatal two vehicle road traffic collision that occurred in Co. Kildare on Wednesday, the 13th of March, 2024.
“Gardaí and Emergency Services were alerted shortly after 11pm following a collision involving two cars on the M4 Westbound at Junction 8 at Kilcock, County Kildare. The driver, a male in his late 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“No other injuries have been reported at this time.
“The road at the crash site has been closed, and local diversions are in operation. Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested to examine the scene. The local Coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.
“Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses of the collision to come forward. Additionally, road users with camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, who were in the vicinity at the time are urged to provide this footage to investigating Gardaí.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Leixlip Garda Station at 01 666 7800, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
