More good news on the weather front this week.
Met Éireann has confirmed that a “tropical airmass” is set to hit Ireland this week, bringing with it highs of 23 degrees.
The weather experts are predicting that high pressure is on the way this weekend as the Azores high builds across Ireland.
This will bring a spell of warm and dry weather with good sunshine for many as temperatures will reach quite widely into the low 20s over the weekend.
Met Éireann added that it will feel “quite humid this week” as a “tropical maritime airmass” will become established over Ireland.
The forecaster said that this airmass will bring a good deal of cloud and moisture, but where the sun breaks through it will be fairly warm with plenty of sunshine and temperatures of up to 23 degrees.
Most areas will stay dry with sunny spells for the rest of Tuesday afternoon and this evening, especially across the eastern half of the country with highest temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees, continuing throughout the week.
Wednesday morning will be largely cloudy with patchy light rain and drizzle, however, it will become drier during the afternoon with sunny spells in many areas. Highest temperatures will reach 16 to 21 degrees.
Rain and drizzle will turn patchy through the day with sunshine gradually breaking through.
It will be warm and humid with temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees in most areas throughout the country.
Thursday will also be warm, humid, and breezy with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle.
There will be drier weather across the eastern half of the country with the sun breaking through at times. Temperatures will yet again reach between 17 to 23 degrees.
Atlantic counties will see further rain and drizzle after dark, with the rest of the country staying largely dry and warm throughout the night.
By Friday, there’ll be sunny spells after a mostly cloudy start. Highest temperatures will range from 15 degrees at coasts of the west to 21 or 22 degrees in the southeast.
The good weather also seems likely to last through to the weekend as Met Éireann confirmed that current indications suggest warm weather will stay in place next Saturday and Sunday.
