Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow advisory warning for Ireland as the impact of Storm Ernesto continues to be felt in various counties.
As stated on their website, the warning was issued at 10:00 and it’s in place until 04:00 on Sunday morning.
As for the conditions that are expected, they say that: “Rain moving eastwards across Ireland this evening and tonight will give heavy / intense bursts of rainfall in places for short periods with a risk of spot flooding.”
Aside from this, there’s a Status Yellow marine/gale warning that’s also in place. It states that: “South to southwest winds will occasionally reach gale force for a time this evening on coasts from Mizen Head to Loop Head to Slyne Head.”

Small marine crafts that plan to be sailing on the coasts from Wicklow Head to Roches Pt to Mizen Head should also note that “winds will reach force 6 or 7 this evening and for a time tonight.”
With regards to the overall weather forecast, here’s the latest one for tonight and tomorrow morning.
This afternoon will be dry in many areas with a good deal of cloud and some sunny intervals. Outbreaks of rain will affect northern parts of Ulster. During the afternoon, heavy rain will develop in the west and spread eastwards this evening and early tonight with a risk of spot flooding.
Tonight will see heavy or persistent rain but it’s set to become lighter later and will clear overnight.
Sunday should be mainly dry with a good deal of cloud and some bright or sunny spells. The best of the sunshine will be in the east. There’ll be a few showers, these most likely in the west.
