Rain warning

So much for summer.

On a day that is usually marked by glorious weather to coincide with the start of the Junior and Leaving Cert exams, Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rainfall warning for seven counties.

Not the first weather warning to be issued this week, the warning applies to Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo, with Met Éireann forecasting that another 25 to 32 mm of rainfall is expected over a 24-hour period.

Issued at 8am on Wednesday morning, the warning came into effect at 9am on Wednesday morning and will remain in effect until 9am on Thursday morning.

Sadly, conditions don’t look like improving for the foreseeable future, with plenty of rainfall expected amidst occasional spells of dry weather for the rest of the week and through the weekend.

Crap.
