Met Éireann have issued two more weather warnings for Ireland

Met Éireann have issued a further two weather warnings to go along with the one that was issued on Friday afternoon.

On Friday, a yellow wind warning was issued for Munster, Leinster and Galway and is valid from 3pm on Saturday until 8pm the same evening.

But now, Met Éireann have issued a further two warnings on Saturday morning. The first is a status yellow rainfall warning for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal which is running from 6am on Saturday until midnight.

They warned of further rainfall on Saturday afternoon and evening which will give a total 24 hour rainfall accumulation of between 25 and 35 mm.

Met Éireann have also issued a nationwide status yellow snow and ice warning for the whole day on Sunday.

According to the broadcaster, wintry showers will give accumulations of up to 3 cm of snow, with larger amounts on higher ground, especially in Ulster and Connacht.

The Met Office has also issued a snow and ice warning for the north of Ireland warning that, “Scattered wintry showers are expected with ice likely to form on untreated pavements, cycle paths and roads.

“Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services. Some injuries from slips and falls are possible on icy surfaces.”
