Gardaí renew witness appeal following fatal motorcycle crash in Dublin

Gardaí in Dublin are renewing their appeal for witnesses following a fatal collision that occurred in Ballinteer on Monday 8 April.

At approximately 7.45pm on Monday evening, 75-year-old Tressa McKernan was seriously injured when she was struck by a motorcycle on Ballinteer Avenue in Dublin 16.

It is understood that McKernan had just alighted from a bus and was attempting to cross the road when the collision took place.

She was subsequently taken by ambulance to St. James’s Hospital and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital where she passed away on Saturday 13 April.

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
