Man in critical condition following serious collision in Waterford

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon.

Gardaí in Waterford are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision that took place on the R860, Cork Road in Waterford on Monday (18 November).

The incident occurred at approximately 12.45pm when a motorcycle and a car collided.

The motorcyclist – a man aged 30 – was subsequently removed from the scene to University Hospital Waterford where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the car – a man aged in his late 70s – was treated for minor injuries.

Gardaí have issued an appeal to any motorists who may have witnessed the collision or who may have travelled on the road and may have dash-cam footage to contact them at Waterford Garda Station on 051 305 300.

Alternatively, people can contact the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Gardaí are also seeking witnesses in relation to a separate motorcycle collision that took place on the M50 on Tuesday morning.

The collision occurred at the merging of the off-ramp and M50 at Junction 5 Southbound shortly before 8am on Tuesday. The man was brought to hospital where he is in a critical condition.

Gardaí are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, particularly any road users who may have dash-cam footage to contact Finglas Garda Station on 01 666 7500 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
