Network, the beloved Dublin city café located on Aungier Street, has announced that it will be closing for good at the weekend.

Just a short walk from JOE’s offices, Network was renowned for its excellent coffee, gorgeous brunch options and warm atmosphere – serving as an ideal hub in the heart of the capital both to meet with friends or to do some work on your laptop.

In an emotional farewell statement, the café’s management said they were closing with an “extremely heavy heart”.

They also added that Network’s last day open will be this Saturday (10 January), before encouraging people to drop in to say goodbye one last time.

You can read the statement in full below:

“It’s with an extremely heavy heart that we are saying goodbye.

“We have truly loved every single second of it—from the day we opened through to the many iterations and changes we’ve gone through, each one bringing different, wonderful people into our lives.

“Community is an overused term, but Network became that for many, and for us, too.

“We won’t get into the boring details of why the business is no more, but simply remember us for what we were.

“We couldn’t list all the people to thank—there are simply too many. Sincerely, we appreciate everyone who became a part of our little community.

“Our last day will be this Saturday. Please come in and say goodbye.

“We set out to open a café, and we built so much more than that. Thank you, everyone.”
