A number of flights belonging to Delta Airlines and American Airlines have also been cancelled so travellers are urged to check their flight information if they’re flying with these airlines today.

The severe weather has also affected Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s visit to the US, with the Taoiseach forced to cancel a number of events in Boston and Rhode Island.

According to RTE, the Taoiseach will now take a train to Washington D.C. to ensure that he doesn’t miss his St Patrick’s Day visit.
