This is her first time home since the Parnell stabbing.
The young girl stabbed in the 2023 Parnell Square attack has marked a major milestone.
Writing on GoFundMe, the girl’s family confirmed she has visited her home for the first time since the incident.
They said this was their daughter’s first time seeing their new neighbourhood too.
The family explained that they had to move to an “adapted home”, making this their little girl’s first visit to their new house.
They shared: “We got to bring our baby home for a visit. It was the first time since November that she was in her room.
“We were able to move to an adapted home, so it was also the first time she saw her new neighbourhood and house.”
Her family said the visit was “a very emotional one” and confirmed they are feeling hopeful about bringing the child “home for good”.
“It was a big step towards bringing her home for good… a very emotional one. And she did not disappoint. What a warrior!” they wrote.
The young girl, who has not been named publicly, has been recovering in hospital since the incident last November in Dublin.
Her family previously shared that she may be released from hospital in the autumn.
“Our little warrior has been doing well and there is talk of a discharge before autumn. Even after a nasty stomach bug, she is doing well with her feeds, and she enjoys play time and her therapies,” they said recently.
“She is able to communicate what she likes, doesn’t like, and is in great spirits.”
Her family also stated she is now interested in playing as well as continuing her education.
“We are looking forward to the next chapter,” they shared.
