PIC: Driver stopped in Carlow going at a speed that "beggars belief"
Downright dangerous.
Gardaí on the M9 Motorway stopped a car going almost twice the 120km/h speed limit on Thursday.
A photo shared on the official An Garda Síochána Twitter account on Friday morning shows a speed camera that clocked the motorist driving at 212km/h.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving and will face a judge on 17 April.
The quote attributed to the Carlow Roads Policing Unit? "This one beggars belief."
The photo was accompanied by this caption: "Speed check on M9 motorway y/day detected a driver travelling at 212km/h IN 120km/h zone. Driver arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and charged to appear before Carlow District Court on the 17th April."
