PICS: A massive sinkhole opened up in Donegal during the bad weather

The weather caused havoc.

Wow…

The poor weather caused havoc in Donegal and Derry last night and both counties are still feeling the effects of damage today.

Many cars were washed away in Derry after heavy rain caused the River Faughan to flood and dragged cars from a nearby car park under the water.

You can see the dramatic footage of that here.

The heavy rain and flowing water managed to cause a huge section of the road between Muff and Quigley’s Point to wash away.

A driver then had a lucky escape when their van plunged into the hole left in the road as can been seen in the below image captured by Pat Mc Candless and uploaded by John Mc Candless.

The below photos were uploaded by A.W.S TYRES in Donegal and show to an even greater extent, the state the road was left in following the poor weather.

It also outlines just how lucky the driver of the van was.
