Scary scenes.

This is shocking…

As we mentioned earlier, there’s been some flash flooding in Donegal and other northern areas as a result of heavy rain.

A number of roads were closed, with Derry and Donegal some of the worst places affected. A number of bridges also collapsed under the torrents of rain which fell yesterday and late last night.

Scary footage has emerged from Drumahoe in Derry, where a number of cars were pulled into the River Faughan by the rising waters.

Thankfully there was no one in the car when it was pulled into the water.

The incident happened at the main road through Drumahoe, near the junction for Ardmore Road, with the cars being left vacant in a park and ride car park, when they were pulled into the water.

The footage shows one car being pulled under the water, but Craig Lamrock, who captured the footage, told JOE that more were caught in the rising water as well.

Below, you can see the aftermath of the video with a number of cars resting in the river.

The Institute football grounds in Derry also had their pitch severely damaged in the flooding and now have a pitch which closer resembles a swimming pool than a soccer pitch.

At the time of writing, the Foreglen Road at the bridge at Drumahoe remains closed.
