Activists Strike 4 Repeal are holding a strike in Dublin today to show solidarity to women in Ireland who have been affected by the lack of abortion provision in this country.
The movement is inspired by women in Poland, who successfully went on strike against the tightening of abortion laws in the country by downing tools and wearing black last October.
The movement want the government to hold a referendum on the Eighth Amendment, the article which guarantees the right to life of the unborn.
The amendment was introduced to the Irish Constitution following a referendum in 1983.
