Plane’s nose wheel collapses during landing at Cork Airport

No injuries were reported following the incident.

The nose wheel of a light airport collapsed upon the plane's landing at Cork Airport on Saturday. The incident took place on runway 16, as the aircraft - believed to be a training plane - was descending after travelling from Waterford to Cork. The official Cork Airport Twitter account stated that the runway was temporarily closed afterwards, with emergency crews attending the scene. It's been a bit of a surreal Saturday for Cork Airport, following the discovery of an exotic animal on the grounds. Photos of a ring-tailed coati, a creature native to the jungles of South America, were shared by the airport's official social media accounts. A spokesperson for the airport took to social media to explain that the animal had previously been spotted in Ballygarvan, before making its way to the airport itself.
