The announcement comes one day after the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s death.
An Post has issued two stamps in recognition of the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela.
The two Nobel Peace prize-winners’ stamps are intended for international mail and will be made available from main post offices, stamp counters at Dublin’s GPO and online.
Designed by Dublin-based design studio Aad, the stamps depict King during the famous civil rights march on Washington, and Mandela in Soweto in September 1990.
The stamps featuring King and Mandela, which come under the title of International Statesmen, were released on Thursday following on from the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s assassination on Wednesday.
