Punter in Bray wins big after Euromillions bet comes in at odds of 33,000/1

Some folks have all the luck.

One lucky punter who bought their ticket in the south of Ireland won a cool €500,000 in Tuesday night’s Euromillions Plus draw and though the amount wasn’t quite as significant, there was another big winner in Bray.

A Ladbrokes punter in the Wicklow town woke up on Wednesday morning €33,000 richer after a €1 bet correctly predicting four of the five numbers in the draw came through at odds of 33,000/1.

No doubt the punter in question is wishing they staked more than €1 on the bet made at the Quinsborough Road Branch in Bray on Wednesday afternoon, but if they so choose, they could purchase thousands of tickets with their winnings for Friday’s draw, which will have a jackpot of €156 million.

The numbers correctly selected in the bet for the Euromillions Plus draw, if you must know, were 4, 48, 49 and 50.

Hayley O’Connor of Ladbrokes said: “The summer might be over but the sun was definitely shining on this customer in Bray this morning.

“The odds on predicting 4 numbers from the Euromillions draws are over three times bigger than the odds for spotting the Lough Ness Monster, and over ten times bigger than Hull’s price to win this Premier League, so it’s not surprising that it’s such a popular bet for punters, and one of them struck gold last night.”
