Ukraine's Air Force say that Russia launched 805 drones and 13 missiles overnight.
The Ukrainian defence units claim to have took out 751 drone and four missiles, however at least two were killed.
So far, the two confirmed to have been killed in the attack are a mother and her three-month-old baby.
Both of their bodies were dug out of the rubble this morning, reports Sky News.
Government buildings were also hit in the aerial strike, setting the main government building on fire.
The nation's prime minister, Yulia Svyrydenko, said: "For the first time, the government building was damaged by an enemy strike - its roof and upper floors."
The government building in question was the Cabinet of Ministers building, with a fire breaking out on the upper floors.
Ukraine say that Russia's attack makes a mockery of US peace efforts. The Ukraine Foreign Ministry said that the sky above Ukraine has been covered with smoke since this morning.
They said: "Works to eliminate the consequences of the terror continues. "This is a deliberate step by Russia to prolong the war, a conscious crime, and a mockery of peace efforts, including those of the United States.
"There must be a clear and strong response in the form of sanctions. Words have never stopped Russian drones and missiles."
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has also condemned Russia's attack as a 'deliberate crime' and a 'prolongation of war'.
