Met Éireann issue weather warning as Storm Ciarán approaches Ireland

November is off to an unsettling start.

Just two weeks after Storm Babet, which closely followed Storm Agnes, the UK Met Office named Storm Ciarán on Sunday October 29th, and it's on its way to Ireland. Storm Ciarán is set to pass close to the south coast of Ireland on Wednesday, November 1st, with Met Éireann reporting that it will bring "heavy rain and strong winds". They believe that these conditions will be seen mostly in Munster and Leinster, and that flooding is likely.

Met Éireann issue Status Yellow rain warning for Kerry

Met Éireann has also issued a Status Yellow Rain Warning for Kerry starting from 12pm tomorrow (October 31). The possible impacts of the rainy weather include localised flooding, difficult travel conditions, and poor visibility. This warning is in place for 24 hours, until 12pm on Wednesday (November 1).

Met Éireann also reports there will be little respite from the rainy weather even before Storm Ciarán hits, with weather conditions expected to be wet across the country on Monday and Tuesday.
