Stunning table tennis shot during Paralympics 2012

The Paralympics are in full swing with the Irish medal haulage getting all the more impressive with each passing day.  But this is easily the coolest thing we’ve seen from one of the athletes so far.

The Paralympics are in full swing with the Irish medal haulage getting all the more impressive with each passing day.  But this is easily the coolest thing we’ve seen from one of the athletes so far.

Now table tennis requires massive amounts of skill when you have full use of both your hands; this makes 22 year old British athlete David Wetherill’s shot in a tense game all the more impressive.

Diving bravely to his right, he not only manages to keep the ball in play, he also wins the point. Sadly, he didn’t manage to win the game against German opponent Thomasz Kusiak, but something tells us this shot will be doing the rounds in sports highlight reels for a few years to come.

Better luck in Brazil, David.
