Arrest made following Dublin shooting

A man is in critical condition following a shooting in Dublin on Tuesday afternoon.

A man in his early 50s has been arrested following a shooting incident that took place in Dublin on Tuesday, 22 February.

The incident occurred at a premises in the Hazel Grove area of Tallaght.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene shortly after 1pm.

A man aged in his 30s had received an apparent gunshot wound and was later taken to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

He remains in critical condition.

The man arrested at the scene has been detained at Tallaght Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.

As of Tuesday evening, the scene has been preserved so that an examination may be carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information relevant to the incident who may have been in the Hazel Grove area of Tallaght to come forward.
