Steve Bannon - President Trump's former chief strategist - has been arrested and charged with fraud in relation to the building of a border wall with Mexico.
The US Department of Justice says the charges relate to fundraising around the building of the border wall. According to Sky News, the charges were contained in an indictment unsealed in Manhattan federal court.
Bannon was involved in the We Build The Wall campaign, a fundraising effort to support the building of a border wall between the United States and Mexico.
Prosecutors: Bannon and 3 other defendants are accused of orchestrating "a scheme to defraud hundreds of thousands of donors, including donors in the Southern District of New York, in connection with an online crowdfunding campaign ultimately known as 'We Build The Wall'."
