Irish football legend, surprisingly good Vanilla Ice impersonator and all round good guy Kevin Kilbane has joined Twitter. Give him a follow, won’t you?

Kilbane announced his retirement yesterday, bringing down the curtain on a career that saw him play for nine clubs and make 110 appearances in an Irish jersey, third on the all-time caps list behind Shay Given and Robbie Keane.

With a lot of time on his hands and possibly aware of the need for a social media presence for his burgeoning career as a football pundit, Kilbane has signed up to what Vincent Browne might call the Twitter machine and his first post was to thank people for their well wishes and to confirm that it was his official account.

Nothing spectacular with the first effort then, but the first impressions of Kilbane as a pundit have been good so he should be well worth a follow, although we can’t see him being the type to go off on a Joey-Barton-style me against the world rant from time to time.

And if there’s the possibility of him posting more videos of his very impressive version of ‘Ice Ice Baby’ then all the better.

Welcome Zinedine, now try and stay clear of the trolls.

If you simply can’t get enough of Kilbane, check out some of his best moments here.
