So apparently today is #HeterosexualPrideDay.
More accurately, some people are hitting back at the recent Pride parades where LGBT communities gathered to celebrate and express their pride despite the persecution they face all over the world on both individual and systemic levels.
There are those on Twitter who have piped up and asked why there are no straight pride festivals – and so the hashtag was born.

It should pretty much go without saying that the whole idea was torn to pieces by clever social media users who pointed out exactly why #HeterosexualPrideDay makes very little sense as a response to LGBT pride.
