Christ, could you imagine this sort of carry on outside Leinster House?
The Dáil and Seanad are back today so who knows, maybe somebody will actually try this on Kildare Street today but we sincerely doubt any of our, eh, beloved, TDs will be subject to the type of treatment that Ukrainian MP Vitaly Zhuravsky was yesterday.
We’re sure the mob had their reasons for doing it – Zhuravsky is a controversial figure to say the least – but the footage is still a little unsettling to watch, particularly seeing his head held down by the man wearing the grey gloves.
Like we said, we don’t condone this kind of behaviour or anything, but at the same time, we imagine someone preceded Zhuravsky being thrown into the bin with the line: ‘It’s time to take out the trash’.
