The word of BOD…

Ireland face up to the task of defending their Six Nations crown next month and while the pressure will be on as reigning Champions, head-coach Joe Schmidt doesn’t strike us as a man that dwells on past results.

If the New Zealander is ever feeling in a reflective mood, however, he will certainly be able to look back on a fantastic 2014 season which saw Ireland lift the Six Nations title and secure a 100% autumn international campaign with impressive wins against Australia and South Africa.

Brian O’Driscoll is more than capable of throwing an analytical eye on the Boys in Green and he also suggested three players who have the potential to make a big impact in this years Six Nations.

Speaking with World Rugby, Ireland’s record try scorer made special mention of two of his former teammates at Leinster along with the man who seems most likely to fill his boots at outside centre.

Bring on the opening game against Italy in Rome we say.
