We know that Irish men are far and above their international counterparts when it comes to romance, with marriage proposals being a particular speciality… so the lovely ladies of Her.ie tell us anyway, and they’re not drunk or deluded or anything.
It seems, however, that the proposal bar has just been well and truly raised by a certain Mr Luke ‘Big F*ckin’ Cheesy Grin On His Face’ Tyrel.
A gargantuan tip of the hat to the genuflecting gentleman in question, who successfully employed the help of family, friends, the fine filming folk at The Lightroom, the IRFU and, last but not least, the spectacular Aviva Stadium, all to ask his girlfriend Christina to marry him.
Uploading his meticulously-planned, perfectly-executed, hidden camera-packed proposal to YouTube, Luke wrote, “my engagement proposal to my girlfriend (now fiancé) at the Aviva Stadium where we met and worked together.”

Congratulations from everyone here at JOE to Luke and Christina on their recent engagement, but here’s hoping that a blooper reel/Director’s Cut/video-revealing-all-the-stuff-they-wanted-to-edit-out-because-they-didn’t-want-the-public-to-hear-it video is due to be released at some point in the future too.
