Video: Legendary Irish aul’ lad gives it socks to Nicki Minaj on New Year’s Eve

You’re never too old for a bit of Nicki Minaj…

JOE reader Sarah Kennedy was down in the Silver Granite in Palmerstown with a few of her mates on New Year’s Eve when the DJ on the night decided to stick on Nicki Minaj’s dance floor hit ‘Starships’. The kids love the auld Starships and so, apparently, do the older generation.

That’s when an elderly gentleman who was down enjoying a New Year’s Eve scoop jumped up onto the dance floor in order to show the kids a few classic moves. Then, when the music stopped, the bloke in question casually walked off the dance floor and into the gents’. It’s the dancing equivalent of walking away from an explosion without turning back around. Hero!

Speaking about the video, Sarah said: “I just had to share this with you. This Aul’ lad decided to entertain us in The Silver Granite by bopping along to Nicki Minaj. It was hilarious and have us all a giggle and as my mate Dave says in the background ‘2014 is great so far!’”

While the bloke above isn’t too bad on the dance floor, he’s certainly no John Conneely…
