Video: The stars of Father Ted give their views on the Marriage Referendum

This is far more than just an ecumenical matter

Conor Heneghan

*Disclaimer* They may not have actually been talking about the Marriage Referendum.

Practically everyone in Ireland has had their say on how they’ll be voting in Friday’s Marriage Referendum.

But has anyone asked what Ted and Dougal think or how the likes of Dick Byrne or Barty Dunne will be voting at the polls come the end of the week?

Much like the Irish abroad or people under 18, as fictitious characters, the cast of Father Ted have, of course, no right to vote on Friday.

One clever YouTuber has assembled a series of clips from the show to imagine the decision the cast would make if they had the choice, however and it’ll provide a bit of light-hearted distraction before you have to go and make what is a very serious choice this week.

Remember folks, be sure to get out and vote on May 22
