WATCH: Whistleblower claims that Brexit campaign cheated and was ‘totally illegal’

Rory Cashin

When asked about the accusations, the Prime Minister’s political secretary “outed” the whistleblower as gay.

In an interview with Channel 4 News, a whistleblower has claimed that the Brexit was cheated into winning by massively overspending on their campaigns.

Shahmir Sanni stated that “I know… that Vote Leave cheated. […] Leaving the European Union, I agree with. But I don’t agree with losing what it means to be British in that process; losing what it means to follow the rules; losing what it means to be quite literally a functioning democracy.”

When questioned about the accusations of cheating, Theresa May’s political secretary Stephen Parkinson is being accused of “outing” Sanni, by stating that the two were in a relationship for 18 months, and that this colours his judgement of the events.

Sanni claims that the Vote Leave campaign used other campaigns, such as the BeLeave campaign, to get around spending limits set by the Electoral Commission.

Vote Leave has strongly denied wrongdoing and has stated that the £625,000 donated to BeLeave was within the rules.
