We’re liking the look of those temperatures…

While it may be too soon to call it a heatwave, Ireland looks set to enjoy some fairly toasty temperatures this week.

Met Éireann have promised temperatures of up to 19 degrees in some areas over the next few days.

They said that Tuesday will begin dry and bright in eastern coastal counties, but it will be misty and mostly cloudy elsewhere, with patches of drizzle, light rain and fog.

However, drier, brighter and sunnier weather will spread in from the Atlantic in the afternoon bringing with it top temperatures of 13 to 18 degrees.

It will be a relatively cold night with temperature of between two and five degrees, with the possibility of frost in some areas.

Wednesday will be dry and bright, with unbroken sunshine for many parts, with moderate to fresh and gusty northeast breezes. Temperatures will range from 12 to 17 degrees.

Overall it looks set to be a fairly settled week, and although temperatures will fluctuate somewhat, it will remain generally calm, mild and settled.

Looking ahead at the weekend, Met Éireann said that: “Saturday looks dry with long spells of mild or even warm sunshine. Perhaps a little cloudier at times closer to the Atlantic with the odd spot of drizzle possible near western coasts. Highest temperatures will range 14 to 19 degrees Celsius.”

However, Sunday at this stage looks a little bit more unsettled and while it’s too early to say exactly, we could see temperatures slipping back down.
