The video was uploaded on Thursday evening.

A hardware store in Wexford has issued an apology after they received a backlash for a video they posted promoting their Black Friday deals.

Smyths Homevalue in Enniscorthy, Wexford posted the video on Thursday evening in preparation for the Black Friday sales but was removed a short time later.

It has since been uploaded to YouTube by a different user.

The video shows a man wearing black clothing and with black paint over his body walking around the store showing off the items they have reduced.

On Friday night, the store issued an apology for the video calling it “naive”.

“We would like to sincerely apologise to anyone upset or offended by our recent video post,” the store said in a statement.

“While naive on our part, we in no way intended to impersonate or insult anyone based on their race, however on reflection we can see how it would be perceived that way and for that we are very sorry.”
