Dull, dull, dull…

We’re in for a dull and wet weekend in Ireland as the bright and fine weather from earlier in the week has well and truly gone.

While Saturday will start off bright, clouds and rain will descend on much of the country by late afternoon. Scattered showers will occur in the west in the morning and these will spread eastwards later in the day.

Temperatures will range from 15 to 19 degrees.

Showers will continue to affect western and northwestern counties tonight, merging to longer spells of rain at times there. It will become dry in Leinster and across much of Munster, with clear spells developing, but the showers will start to edge eastwards again towards the end of the night.

Sunday will be a showery day, widespread and heavy through the day, with the risk of thundery downpours. There will be some brief spells of sunshine in-between showers.

Top temperatures will again range 15 to 19 degrees.

Monday will bring further showers and sunny spells. The showers will become widespread and heavy again, with a risk of thunderstorms, particularly in the north and west.
